It's been a long winter and now that the weather is getting warmer, everyone's excited to get outside and get moving! We're kicking off a summer-long promotion that will encourage you to live the best life you can!

We've contracted nationally recognized running coach, Thad McLaurin to help us begin a virtual, 12-week 5K training program that includes a plan for walkers, walk/runners, and runners. The program  will include weekly posts that educate us on proper training, nutrition, strengthening exercises, and other aspects of walking and running, in addition to staying motivated. And, he'll be sharing weekly videos that have simple but highly effective exercises that you can do at home to help strengthen core muscles that will be used doing the 5K.

How To Get Started

Get started with 3 easy steps:

  1. Decide if you will walk, walk/run, or run your 5K. Then, click on one of the buttons below to view/download your 12 week training program. (Print it out and post it where you'll see it each day!)
  2. Select a 5K for your goal race. This is what you will work toward. You'll need 12 weeks to train, so depending on when you start, look for races 3 months out. To find races near you, you can visit runningintheusa.com. If you can’t find a race near where you live and traveling isn’t an option, there are virtual races that you can register for. Check out www.virtualstrides.com for virtual race options.
